Therapy For Young Adults
Become your best self.
Your concerns, which might arise in your late teens and early twenties, may include challenges with peers, sexual or developmental concerns, school or career challenges, and family differences.
Because the rapid physiological, sexual, cognitive, and emotional changes often characterizing this period may be overwhelming, you might find therapy to be beneficial during this transition. I offer a sex-positive, gender-affirming space to explore next steps that feel right for you.
Commonly explored questions in therapy:
Is it all right to have beliefs that are different from those of my parents?
What are my fears and anxieties about independence? What do I do if I cannot succeed on my own?
Where do I find support for my neurodiverse needs including ADHD, Autism, and/or Dyslexia?
How well do I know myself? How do I discover who I really am and what I want?
How do I distinguish questions of sexual orientation from gender identity?
What is keeping me tied to my parents? All my friends have moved out, but I do not feel ready to live on my own yet.
How do I navigate conditions in the world (extended family, political, school, work, religious organizations, community) that are hostile to, devalue, or do not recognize LGBTQIA+ relationships or families?
Is there a way that I can increase my self-compassion and develop a more positive relationship with my body image, food choices, and exercise?
What are my values and goals? I do not know if my values are my own or if I only hold them because I learned them from my family.
My clients are diverse in age, culture, gender expression, and identity but they share common challenges.
